ADB forecasts slower growth for Pacific, Fiji to host Trade Pasifika, Confusion continues in CNMI

From the Asian Development Outlook report 2012:

  • Pacific growth to slow to 6.0% in 2012 (ADB)
  • Rising income inequality a threat to Asia’s growth, stability (The Star)

  • PNG investors eye Far North Queensland. PNG residents are the largest foreign investors in the Far North says the Registrar of Titles (Cairns.com)
  • Fiji, China military, security ties grow (Fiji Sun)
  • Flood damage to Fiji’s sugar industry and agriculture runs into the millions (Fiji Times)
  • Indonesia rescues 120 Australia-bound Afghan migrants from a leaking wooden ship (Washington Post)
