The Spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary General has released a statement expressing his concern about the PNG situation.
“”The Secretary-General is concerned about the current tensions in Papua New Guinea in connection with the disputed prime ministership. He calls on all sides to exercise maximum restraint and to avoid an escalation of the situation. The Secretary-General hopes that the crisis will be resolved soon in a peaceful manner in accordance with the Constitution.” (United Nations)
