Fiji to open South Korea, UAE embassies

Fiji’s government has announced it will open embassies in South Korea and the United Arab Emirates in 2012.

This follows the opening of missions in Indonesia, Brazil and South Africa this year.

A Fiji government statement says the opening of the two new missions will foster trade and investment opportunities, and that the UAE mission will also bring closer cooperation with countries in the Non Aligned Movement (NAM).

NAM member countries represent two – thirds of the United Nations membership and 55 per cent of the world population.
