Fiji timber to be shipped to China

A Fiji mining company is expanding into the timber industry, and plans to ship timber to China.

Aurum Exploration Fiji Limited current operates the Nawailevu bauxite mine in Bua Province, Vanua Levu.

“I’ll soon be travelling to the provinces to talk about our company’s proposal to buy local timber for our newly acquired Savusavu timber mill,” Aurum’s operation manager, Basilio Vanuaca, says in today’s Fiji Sun.

Fiji’s Permanent Secretary for Lands and Mineral Resources, Filimoni Kau, said government is happy with Aurum’s development plans in the north.
