Floodwaters continue to flow towards central Bangkok while the Thai capital’s western side has been widely inundated, reports the Bangkok Post.
The central government complex on Chaeng Watthana Road was lightly populated yesterday as most officials were unable to reach their flooded workplaces there.
However, about 3,000 flood evacuees remained in shelters in the government complex.
Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Theera Wongsamut says it will take about 40 days to drain the 2 billion cubic metres of floodwater in western Bangkok.
Science and Technology Minister Plodprasop Suraswadi said western Bangkok could be completely inundated.
