Guam’s Governor says off-island Asian companies are looking to invest on Guam, and are already working to bring business to the island.
Gov. Eddie Calvo says through trade missions to Japan, China and the Philippines, interest has been generated from Asian investors, including one company ready to invest $10 million, another that wants to build 100 affordable homes, and others interested in opening retail stores.
The Guam Pacific Daily News reports the Governor as saying other investors are interested in expanding telecommunications services, and creating charter flights.
“That’s just a fraction of what came out of our trade missions,” Calvo said in his weekly address.
