The governor of the Northern Marianas says the Commonwealth needs more investors and tourists to fuel it’s economy.
Governor Benigno Fitial is discussing ways to encourage economic growth at a conference in Beijing this week.
The Marianas Variety quotes Fitial as saying Chinese visitors are integral to the CNMI tourism industry. Chinese visitors can visit the Northern Marianas through the US Department of Homeland Security’s discretionary parole authority.
“If we want to see job and economic growth in the commonwealth, then we have to work closely with our international partners who have thriving economies. The Forum provides a tremendous opportunity to explore job creation opportunities and build greater economic ties abroad that seeks to benefit us all for the future,” Fitial says.
