Samoa government sets aside land for proposed Chinese hotel

Samoa’s Government has set aside 500 acres of land on the northwest tip of the island of Upolu for a proposed Chinese hotel.

Radio New Zealand International reports Lands minister Faamoetauloa Taito Faale Tumalii as saying much of the land has been subdivided and the government wants to reserve it for the proposed hotel project to avoid any disputes in the future.

The Sichaun-based International Chendu hotel group was looking for a location to build a 500-room hotel during a visit to Samoa earlier this year.
