Air Niugini, Korean Air plan Palau services

Air Niugini reportedly has plans to fly into Palau.

The Island Times newspaper quotes Palau’s Public Infrastructure, Industries and Commerce Minister Jackson Ngiraingas as saying the plan is to have regular flights from Palau to Japan, to Papua New Guinea and to Australia.

“Palau welcomes this new airline and my ministry will do everything to assist the airline to ensure everything goes well,” the minister said.

He also says Korean Air will begin regular scheduled flights to Palau from December.

Seven airlines have direct and chartered flights to Palau. Continental Airlines fly nine times a week to and from Palau. The Guam-Palau flight is daily while Manila-Palau is twice a week.

Fly Guam has twice a week direct flights to Palau while Asiana Airlines, China Airlines, Trans Asia and Korean Air have scheduled chartered flights.

Delta Airlines flies four times a week between Narita, Japan and Palau although they the service is currently suspended, and will reportedly be back in December.
