Philip in Taiwan for centennial celebration

Solomon Islands Prime Minister Danny Philip has taken a delegation to Taipei, Taiwan to attend Taiwan’s 100th anniversary celebrations.

The Solomon Star reports that Prime Minister Philip is travelling on the invitation of Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou along with more than 400-plus foreign dignitaries from friendly countries and diplomatic allies to attend the Republic of China’s (R.O.C.) centennial celebration.

Prime Minister Philip was also expected to meet with Solomon Islands students in Taiwan.

This week’s celebrations include a military and public parade through the streets of Taipei before proceeding to the front of the Presidential Office Building for an official address by President Ma.
