Indonesia working towards greater autonomy in Papua: Natalegawa

Indonesia’s foreign minister says his government is working to find a way to deliver greater autonomy in its Papua region.

Radio New Zealand reports foreign minister Marty Natalegawa as telling the Council on Foreign Relations in New York that Indonesia is listening to human rights groups and has sought ways to address legitimate concerns since the country embraced democracy.

Natalegawa says the two provinces of Papua need special attention and this can be achieved through autonomy.
