Guam tourism recovering

The Guam Visitors Bureau says tourist numbers have stabilized following the setbacks caused by the Japan earthquake in March.

Kuam.com quotes GVB director Joann Camacho as saying the board is working hard to diversify its markets and strategies.

She says the next step is going after more businesses, adding, “We’re looking at other markets – China and Russia is an option and we’re really going after that in a big way . We have existing markets that we want to grow like Korea and Taiwan and other areas like Philippines and just also promoting Guam as a clean and safe destination.”
