A proposed mineral water project in Tavua, Fiji remains stalled by a dispute over the ownership of a water catchment.
The Fiji Times reports that the Korean Resort Company (KRC) and the Dayals (Fiji) Artesian Waters Limited (Island Chill) both say they are still waiting for the Department of Mineral Resources to decide who is the rightful owner of the catchment area.
KRC director Young Gee Chan says they haven’t heard from the government for four months, but that they remain committeed to the project.
The Lands and Mineral Resources ministry says the case has been referred to the Ministry of Trade of Commerce for a decision.
Chan claims the new water bottling company will generate $45million per year.
