Fiji visitor arrivals up, but mixed results from Asia

Visitor arrivals to Fiji increased by 5.6 per cent in June compared to the same month last year.  There were  61,919 visitors for the month, an increase of more than 3,000.

And visitor arrivals for the six months from January to June 2011 compared to the same period in 2010 increased by nine percent.

However visitors from Asia declined—apart from a 44 per cent increase in arrivals from China. There was a 30.1 per cent drop in arrivals from Japan and a 0.4 per cent drop in arrivals from Korea.

The major source markets in order were Australia, New Zealand, United States, continental Europe and China.
